2006 LUNAR NEW YEAR UNITY PARADE GRANTS

Thanks to generous sponsorship support from parade underwriters, the Lunar New Year Unity Parade Committee was able to initiate a community cultural arts grant program. The objective of the grant program is to provide funds in support of programs and activities that encourage understand of and appreciation for our community's rich heritage of diverse cultural arts and traditions. Recipients of the 2006 Lunar New Year Unity Parade grants included:

Cupertino-Hsinchu Sister City Association $1,000
Cultural exchange gifts to schools visited in Hsinchu

Euphrat Museum of Art at De Anza College $1,000
Expanded multi-cultural arts programs in Cupertino
elementary schools

Monta Vista, Lynbrook, and Cupertino Interact Clubs $1,000
Underwriting support for the 2006 Interact International
Night Talent Show

Eaton School PTO $500
International dance instruction in preparation for
the school's International Night

Cupertino Language Immersion Program $500
at Meyerholz School
Costumers and Lion Dance instruction required to
participate in the San Francisco Lunar New Year
Parade and other cultural events including the
Cupertino Lunar New Year Unity Parade

Lincoln School PTA $300
Tuition for participation in the Paintbrush Diplomacy
international exchange
