Hey kids! Don't forget your 2008 LNYUP Passport... it's your passport to fun! Bring your passport to the event or you can pick one up at the LNYUP Information Booth. Each cultural booth you visit will provide you with a stamp or sticker. Once your passport is full, bring it back to the Information Booth and you will receive a prize! (while supplies last)

Taste the World: an enticing, international dining experience

The committee of this yearˇ¦s Lunar New Year Parade is hosting "Taste the World", an event celebrating and highlighting international cuisine from across the world.

Countries represented at this yearˇ¦s affair are Iran, Italy and Singapore. Come taste freshly made Iranian chicken and beef kabobs, grilled tomato, saffron rice, and lavash & pita bread, Italian bowtie pasta with choices of meat sauce and marinara sauce; parmesan cheese, and garlic bread, prepared by Uncle Rayˇ¦Catering Service, or Malay Fried Rice and Fried Chicken Garlic Noodles from Singaporean prepared by Merlion. Vegetable Biryani rice with Raita, mixed vegetable Pakora with Chutney by the Cupertino Bakery

For only $7.00 a plate you can experiences either the culinary delights of Italy, Persia or Asia. You Chose - or buy all three! Buy your tickets at the door - come soon so you get your first choice before they sell out. These culinary delights will be held at the Quinlan Center during this year's Lunar New Year Unity Parade, Starting at 11:45AM.

For those in favor of fast food, the Organization of Special Needs Families (OSF) will provide water and canned soft drinks for a $1.00 each and it will sell pizza by the slice for $3.00 each. All OSF proceeds will be used to support local programs for the children with special needs.

Island Sno Creations will sell Hawaiian Shave Ice topped with flavored syrup. There are at least a dozen of flavors to choose from!  The prices are Sno-cones ($3.00). Shave ice ($4.00). Root beer floats ($4.00) and ice cream ($1.00 per scoop).
